The Hitachi AMS2000 Tagmastore Modular models (Adaptable Modular Storage) can be used as standalone storage for data consolidation and high volume applications, modular storage for disaster recovery, virtual tape or tape displacement solutions, remote office storage or archive solutions, or lower tier data storage. All three models support RAID-6 disk configurations, Fibre Channel and iSCSI host interfaces, and the ability to intermix Flash drives with SAS and SATA disk drives in the same tray. The high-density storage trays are the solution with up to 48 3.5” disks in a 4U high tray, or up to 24 2.5” disks in a 2U high tray. Nearly 1 petabyte of storage capacity can be installed in a single rack. The SAS architecture also gives massive bandwidth to the drives so performance continues to increase as more drives are added to the system. Dynamic load balancing controllers provide integrated, automated, front-to-back-end I/O load balancing, ensuring I/O traffic from hosts to disk drives is shared equally across both controllers.
